Biography

Marie-Solange Ladenius was born in Rome and grew up in Italy, Belgium and Switzerland. She studied languages at the University of Florence, and after a period of study in Cambridge, Massachusetts, moved to the US and began her work as an illustrator, initially for the Harvard Business Review.

Since that time, Marie-Solange has worked in various mediums, including jewelry design and interiors, eventually returning to pen and ink and watercolours. She has lived and worked in Boston, New York and London. For the past 13 years, she and her husband have lived in Lugano, Switzerland. From September 2017 until January 2018, there was an exhibit of her paintings at the Museo Ebraico di Venezia. In 2019, her paintings were part of an exhibit at the Museo Bellini in Florence.
